After writing his book “How not to run a club”, New Order’s Peter Hook went off and er, opened a nightclub! Having worked with Peter before for Voodoo Ray ’09, we were brought in to document the creation of the club from start to finish. The premises were that of the original Factory Communications Headquarters where Tony Wilson, Alan Erasmus and Rob Gretton had operated Factory Records from.

With Hooky, Aaron Mellor of Tokyo Industries and architect Ben Kelly as central characters, we captured all the mayhem and sawdust that it takes to transform a building site into a vibrant new venue for up and coming artists. We’ve created 5 blogs so far….see them here

The annual Versus Cancer concert at the 18,000+ capacity MEN Arena in Manchester features performances from some of the UK’s best artists. RBF Associate Director Tom Smetham, co-founded the concerts in 2005 to raise money to fight cancer and give the opportunity to see great bands at the same time. As Red Button Films, he and Tighe Grainger return each year to film the event. Some of the artists filmed are listed here

This year was no exception! Our multi-cam front of house team and behind the scenes crew filmed an exceptional night featuring top acts Snow Patrol, Kid British, The Twang, Happy Mondays and a huge performance from James & the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra (composed by Joe Duddell).

Alongside Pit Stop Studios we filmed this really fun trailer and in game content for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe on the PSP

Invizimles are little monsters that you catch and battle against other users. One of the first games to take advantage of augmented reality game play, this product has been hugely successful. It took a few takes until Brian Blessed could pronounce the word “Invizimles” much to the delight of the crew! Lots of fun to make and a great game to boot.

Through the formidable Taylor O’Brien we shot a sensual advert for the awesome shower, luxurious bathroom & kitchen company Grohe

Careful planning allowed us to get this all shot in just a couple of days with a tiny crew. We are extremely proud of the results and really impressed with the Grohe kit!

Under a tight deadline, the edit was completed just a day or two after the shoot. Both Grohe and Taylor O’Brien were very pleased with their bespoke advert. Once it’s online we’ll give you a chance to see it right here.

    • THE CHEMISTS – ‘THIS CITY’ MUSIC VIDEO
    • 8th, Dec, 2009 by Rudy
    • Shot - September 2009
      Release date – Spring 2010

Filmed in just one day on two RED cameras, we produced this music video.

Taking over both floors of a popular Manchester nightclub we assembled an awesome crew to shoot this music video.

Indie label Distiller Records had approached our pals, local award winning CGI company Mi who had created this robot and wanted something kinda like that.

To add to the mix Richard E Grant agreed to play the part of the robot so all in all we had a pretty amazing day and we can’t wait for you to see the finished film when it’s released in Spring 2010. IT’s fair to say we’re quite proud of this.
