Company Director – TIGHE GRAINGER (Red Button Films)

Stepping foot on Manchester soil in 1994 Tighe studied TV, Radio & Journalism at Salford University. After graduating in 1997 he wrangled his way into Granada TV and once settled in, there was not stopping him. His first year was spent solely on location as a P.A, he then spent 2 years as a researcher furthering his location skills but also spendng time in studio, assisting on quiz and music shows and live lifestyle programming. He longed for the outdoors and soon he soon found an opportunity to get back onto location as a Self Shooting Producer / Director. Tighe worked on a wide variety of lifestyle programmes including gardening, cooking, fashion and health but his love and knowledge of the Automotive Industry gave him the rare position of Producing Motoring & Lifestyle prgrammes, taking him and his camera all over the globe and his backside into every Car & Motorbike on the market.

In 2003 Tighe was offered the opportunity to go it alone and set up as an indie. Assisted by Production Manager Julie Ibbetson they signed up a 10 part commission for ITV, the only downside was they had to produce the series in Austalia. It was too good an offer to ignore and within 2 weeks Red Button Films was born. After a 12 month stint in ‘Down Under’ Tighe, Julie and Red Button Films returned to the UK to continue their success.

Now in it’s sixth year RBF has built up a great portfolio and secured a strong reputation for itself. Tighe has continued to develop his skills in all areas of production and has become a confident self shooter, producing travel documentaries, ob docs and features. He has directed adverts, music videos, documentaries and too many marketing videos to list. He has a great network of professionals and a great knowledge of what is needed to deliver a great product. With his input and the team at Red Button every job is in safe hands.
